Dhoni 23rd On Forbes List of Highest Paid Athletes

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is among Forbes magazine’s 100 highest-paid athletes in
the world, the only Indian sportsman on the list that has been topped again by
American boxer Floyd Mayweather and includes golfer Tiger Woods, tennis star
Roger Federer and Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo. Dhoni was placed
at 23rd on the Forbes list with total earnings of 31 million dollars including
amount from salary at 4 million dollars and endorsements worth 27 million
dollars.

Devika Won Queen’s Young Leaders Award
Multiple-medal
winner para-athlete, Devika Malik has been selected as one of the Queen’s Young
Leaders Award winners from across all the Commonwealth Nations. She has
received this award for the efforts made by the Wheeling Happiness foundation
to build a more inclusive society for persons with physical, emotional and
social challenges in India. The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, in
partnership with Comic Relief and The Royal Commonwealth Society has
established the Queen’s Young Leaders Programme in honour of Her Majesty’s long
and continued service to the Commonwealth.

US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy has been presented with the Pride of the
Community Award by a prominent Hindu advocacy group. Receiving the award by the
Hindu American Foundation at its 12th Annual Day reception at Capitol Hill.

Cabinet Approved Proposal To Promulgate The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment)
Ordinance 2015
The Union
Cabinet gave its approval for the proposal to promulgate the Negotiable
Instruments (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015. The intended ordinance will amend the
Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (The NI Act) that is focused on clarifying the
jurisdiction related issues for filing cases for offence committed under
section 138 of the NI Act. Earlier on 13 May 2015, the Negotiable Instruments
(Amendment) Bill, 2015 was passed in Lok Sabha with a voice vote, but was not
introduced in the Rajya Sabha.
